Trek to Kanchanjunga base camp

Get ready for the most adventurous , remote and picturesque trek in Nepal. Trek to Kanchenjunga takes  you to the view of cardamom farming in the lowest altitude to panoramic views of the mountain view of the mountains and Yalung glacier at the higher altitude. It is the longest trek in Nepal which has two base camp to the north and the south.
The south base camp is accomplished in 2 weeks and the trails are rather easier than north base camp. During entire trekking periods in average one need to walk around six to seven hours daily. Normally,most of the people start from North side of Kanchenjunga and trek through Sele Le Pass and descend to Southern side. In general, lower belt is an easy grade walking,passing through pristine forest and vegetation.  Up to Ghunsa on North side is pretty good with some difficult portion mostly slippery nearby the area of the waterfall. The Kanchenjungabase camp trek starts from Taplejung.  You can take a flight from Kathmandu to Taplejung. From Suketar the trek leads to Chauki through the villages of Mitlung, Ghunsa, Khambachen and Lhonak to Pangpema (5,140m) which is also the base camp for expeditions attempting the North Face of Kanchenjunga II and the culmination of the first part of the trek. Kanchajunga base camp trek pass through Kanchanjunga conservation area which is home for rare and endangered animals like the snow leopard,red panda, Himalayan black tiger, musk deer, blue deer, clouded leopard and Assamese macaque.

Best season for Kanchenjunga base camp is autumn and spring. The main highlight of this trek are the magnificent  views of snow capped mountain,varied landscapes from the subtropical lowlands to the stunning glacial plateau,enchanting forests of rhododendrons and plenty of wildlife.
